No I didn't hurt myself, I just got some tattoo work done. I know it was horrible timing, but I
made the appointment before I even made an offer on the house. I've been going to Trent at Addictions, who is probably the best in Fargo, so you have to make an appointment far in advance. If you're curious, I had a barn swallow on my right side which I decided to add another
bird to. I'm probably going to add some kind of background eventually, but today hurt enough for a while! As you can most likely see (despite the glare from the flash) the new tattoo looks better than the one I had before (from a different artist), so Trent is going to touch up the old one to make them match. Again, in a while when I have had enough time to make some more money and forget about how much it hurts!
Unfortunatelly my mobility was somewhat comprimised after it was finished, so all I did today was clean up the paint scrapings from the stairwell.
I got my porch swing up last night! It's so great to open the windows on the porch and watch traffic/pedestrians as I attempt to forget the disaster of a house behind me. My roommates are starting to move their things into the house tomorrow and Tuesday. They aren't moving in quite yet, but I need to get moving on these renovations! I'm getting stressed out by this time crunch!

Ooh I love barn swallows! They're such acrobats in flight! I don't know if these are barn swallows, but around the lake where our other house is there are these swallows who swoop down over the water eating bugs and they have the funniest little bird arguments with each other. Does the barn swallow have a particular meaning to you? (I figure they must have if you've had two of them tatooed onto you!) They're not a typical bird I seen in tatoos much.
Odd...We are on some weird connected wavelength. I got a new tattoo on July 16th (2 hours for outline & shading) and I'm getting the color done on Wednesday. I hadn't thought to post it on my blog, but there is a good story behind it, so I think I'll do the same as you and post it.

Actually, Kelli, the barn swallow is a traditional Navy tattoo representing good fortune in travel and homecoming. This is because when swallows migrate they fly the furthest distance, but always find their way back to the same place (i.e. when the swallows come back to Capistrano). Sailors would get tattoos of the birds while away from home in hopes of returning to their families. For me, when I see a swallow it reminds me of home because my parent's house is the only house in the neighborhood where swallows nest. We have a handful of them swooping around at any time. I guess they like the eaves of Mom and Dad's Queen Anne Neo-Victorian in the middle of contemporary homes.
Nice tattoo. Didn't know sailors had them. I like your reasons for getting them.
